In the last couple of weeks, there have been records of different foreign companies leaving the country and rendering a large number of Nigerians who have worked with them over time unemployed.
While still in the middle of the close-downs and shutdowns, Foodco, a Nigerian multi-channel retailer has announced that it will be opening another store in Ibadan to move its business forward a lot more.
The store which is the 21st of the company and the 3rd launched this year will be situated in the interiors of Gbagi, Ibadan, Oyo state. The company’s Head of Innovation, Growth, and Business Transformation, Funmi Aiyepeku, explained that the intention is to close the difference in modern shopping and satisfy the needs of the increasing number of people in Ibadan.
“Statistics puts the Ibadan metro area population at almost 4 million which is a 3.1 percent increase from last year. Accordingly, it is incumbent on stakeholders like us to scale operations to meet the demand for modern retail among the growing population.” She said.
She also mentioned that they understand how the tastes and preferences of today’s shoppers change. Because of this, their new store has a modern look and a lot of good products at good prices. This is all to make sure customers have a better shopping time.
As part of the new store and festive celebrations, Aiyepeku announced that exclusive price reductions would be available on various items including groceries, household essentials, toiletries, cosmetics, and more.
“Beyond our mandate to make modern retail accessible and affordable, we have also established a legacy of rewarding our customers who have stuck with us through thick and thin. This Christmas promo is just an expression of our gratitude to our dear customers,” she added.
While Foodco opens a new outlet in Ibadan, this may mean new jobs, especially for the residents of Ibadan or other job seekers who are looking to commute. So, if you need a job, you can check out for any openings that the company might put up soon.
