A few weeks ago, Access Bank PLC, a commercial financial institution in Nigeria started taking applications for graduate trainees. Throughout the year, the bank regularly invites recent graduates to apply for positions within their workforce. One of the best parts of applying for this opportunity is that you are allowed to “come as you are” which means that you do not need to have prior experience in a particular field as the program is designed to train graduates in fields that will later on be beneficial to the organization.
What do I need to know about the Access Bank Graduate Trainee Program?
The Access Bank graduate trainee program is for all fresh graduates in Nigeria. The program is divided into two including:
- ELTP (Entry-Level Trainee Programme Graduate) Graduate
- ELTP Retail (Entry-Level Trainee Programme) Retail
However, you are required to pick just one program. What differentiates one part of the program from another is the Divisions within the organization. The ELTP Graduate belongs to the ERG (Enterprise Resource Group), CIBD (Corporate and Investment Banking Division), and CBD (Commercial Banking Division) while the ELTP retail falls under the Retail Sales, Products, and Retail Operations division.
Who can apply for the Access Bank Graduate Trainee Program?
While any fresh graduate can apply to the trainee program, there are age restrictions and people who do not fall within this age bracket may not be able to apply. However, there are other requirements for each division within the trainee program:
For ELTP Graduate:
- Candidates must not be older than 26 years at the time of application.
- Candidates with MSc, LLB must not be older than 28 years as of the date of application.
- Candidates must have at least second-class upper 2:1 from a recognized university.
- Candidates must have completed NYSC.
For ELTP Retail:
- Candidates must not be older than 26 years at the time of application.
- Candidates with MSc, LLB must not be older than 28 years as of the date of application.
- Candidates must have at least second-class upper 2:2 from a recognized university.
- Candidates must have completed NYSC.

If you have gone through every one of the requirements and you are sure that you are fit to apply. Visit the application portal which redirects you to the Jobberman page where you can apply for the ELTP Graduate or ELTP retail and write the assessment required of you.
Several people have registered and written the assessment test. If you would like to be a part of the good work being done at Access Bank PLC and do not mind undergoing solid training, the application is still open till the 15th of October, 2023. After taking the assessment, only qualified candidates will be reached out to at each stage of the recruitment.
How much does Access Bank pay Graduate Trainees?
The bank does not disclose the amount being paid to the graduates but from information obtained from social media, the graduate trainees are paid a different amount during the period of training. The salary changes when the trainees are brought on board as full staff. This information also reveals that the salary ranges between N150,000 – N250,000 monthly.
