How Does the Road Safety Recruitment Work in Nigeria?

Who is a Road Safety Recruit?

A road safety recruit is a person who has undergone all stages of the screening and recruitment process to work for the Federal Road Safety Commission. These recruits must have presented the necessary qualifications, skills, and commitment required to serve as responsible officers in the field of road safety. While they must have the important qualifications, they are also made to go through a training process organized by the FRSC to see that they can handle relevant tasks such as traffic regulations, ensuring road safety, and promoting public awareness to enhance safe road usage. However, there are other responsibilities of a road safety recruit and, they include:

  • Operating at assigned duty stations and maintaining discipline.
  • Ensuring that no accidents occur as a result of negligence on the driver’s part.
  • Ensuring smooth traffic flow at all times, especially during congested periods.
  • Inspecting vehicles to confirm that they are fit for the road and comply with safety standards.
  • Building a positive relationship with road users and the community at large.

How can I access the Road Safety recruitment portal?

The Road Safety recruitment portal functions as the central hub for the organization, addressing the requirements of people who would like to engage with the agency online and get information about the recruitment process.
