If you are an entrepreneur, follow this simple tips to create content for your Business

People like to think of every entrepreneur as a content creator and this is because the best way to showcase your goods and services is to create content that your target audience may find interesting. Many entrepreneurs struggle with creating good content and because of this, they may hire product photographers and video creators to do the work which may in turn cost them some money.

The gist is some entrepreneurs also take nice photos and make good videos of their products themselves and this has not only increased their business reach but has also helped them to save more money for the business.

Why create content as an entrepreneur?

…..because Content is King! It is easy to assume that majority of your customers know what you sell and how much you sell them, so you don’t need to do too much. Creating content as an entrepreneur means that you are taking appealing photos of your products and also making beautiful videos of them. These videos can take any form, it can include teaching your audience how to use certain products or even why you should use them. For the photos, most people are attracted by how the product looks in a picture and this positively influences their purchase decision.

If you didn’t know, creating content is another form of marketing. It’s a big strategy to engage your audience, build brand awareness, and establish yourself as the brand authority. When you consistently produce valuable and relevant content, you are educating your audience, increasing visibility, and encouraging customer loyalty.

Create!

Some entrepreneurs are aware of the importance of creating content but do not know how to go about it. You, as a business owner, are not a “professional content creator”, so you may just get to work and ”do your thing” because no one expects you to be perfect. Mind you, you also need to keep in mind that whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. Check out these photo and video tips if you are having a hard time creating content for your business:

Take clear HD Images

  • If you are just starting off with creating content, you may want to start with pictures first because they seem easier than videos. For your pictures, be sure that you are using a phone with a good camera and that’s the first way to go.
  • Whatever picture you are taking, ensure that there is proper lighting I.e. not too dark and not too light, just perfect. You can easily just go outside for natural light and that makes it even better and original. You can use artificial lamps if there isn’t enough light outside.
  • Also, keep your background/props and lighting consistent for subsequent use because you want your audience to get used to your products that way.
  • Take the pictures over and over again till you get one with a very good quality. No one likes blurry pictures and they like to see details of what they are buying. So, when capturing, take clear shots of the details – it could be the cap of a bottle or the arms of sunglasses. Just make sure you are giving your audience what they truly want via photos. If you can’t invest in a camera yet, use the rear camera of your phone as it has a better resolution compared to the front camera.
  • Keep the focus: if your customer has to spend more than a second to figure out what the product is, then, you are doing it wrong. Make sure there is sufficient contrast between the product and the background.

Shoot Clear Videos

This is the 2nd part of “content creation for entrepreneurs.” Your videos can either showcase your products or you showcasing your products and educating your customers about them.

  • Choose a suitable location: when your customers are watching, their eyes may wander and you don’t want them to be distracted from the main message. So, opt for a calm yet beautiful background.
  • There is no good video content without proper lighting. So, you want to check out your lighting each time before you begin to record any video. Be sure that there are no light reflections all over the videos and that any kind of lighting you use is well-diffused.
  • Be sure that you can, with no issues, hear every single thing you have said in the video. Regardless of how bright a video looks on the screen, if there is any problem with the audio, the purpose of creating such content has been defeated.
  • Stick to your script; do you want to teach people how to use a product? Do just that! Do you want to showcase the features of a product? Don’t digress because people may zone out if you have too much information in a short video.
  • The editing may have the bulk of the work but it is essential to put the points above to work first. Then, you can try simple editing applications such as Inshot or Capcut

Your content may not be as good as you expect them to be already but you need to know that “Practice makes Perfect.” The more you try, the better you get.
