The United Nigeria Airlines is a subsidiary of United Nigeria Airline Company Limited, affiliated with Prof. Obiorah Okonkwo (OFR) has a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Russia Academy of Science, Institute of World Economy and International Relations, and an MSc in Economics with distinction from Russian People Friendship University. He also obtained his first degree in Economics and Management of the National Economy, graduating with first-class honors from Russian People Friendship University. He obtained his primary and secondary education in Onitsha Nigeria.
Operation Of United Nigeria Airlines
The United Nigeria Airlines, which became operational on 1st February 2021, currently operates 4 fleets, each with a passenger capacity of 50. Initially, the airline faced delays in making its inaugural flight due to the bureaucratic process of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). However, after overcoming these challenges, the airline successfully flew from Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu on its first official flight.
United Nigeria Airlines aims to connect various cities within Nigeria and has identified 9 cities as part of its tour. These cities include Abuja, Anambra, Asaba, Bayelsa, Delta, Enugu, Imo, Lagos, and Port Harcourt. Recently NCAA granted United Nigeria Airlines the right to travel to the United Kingdom and the United States.
When Will United Nigeria Airline Start Operation
The United Nigeria Airline is a company operating under the umbrella of United Nigeria Airline Limited, it’s a privately owned company affiliated with Prof. Okonkwo Obiorah. The company was established in 2020 but not until the 1st of February 2021 did it obtain its AOC (Air Operators Certificate) from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), which is due on 3It 1st January 2023. The airline whose headquarters is situated in Enugu at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu also has a branch in Abuja.
The United Nigeria Airlines received the license to travel internationally on 8th September 2023, which was approved by the minister of aviation and aerospace Festus Keyamo, following the letter earlier written to the ministry requesting permission to travel to the following countries United States of America, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Germany and United Emirates.
The airline had been ordered to communicate with the civil aviation authority of the corresponding country for further proceedings.
