Max Air is an indigenous-owned airline in Nigeria and is also the longest-serving airline in the country that has been in existence since 2008. The company is owned by an influential businessman in the person of Alh. Dahiru Barau Mangal who is the chairman of the airline and Alh. Bashir Barau Mangal is the vice chairman of the airline. The airline has its headquarters located in Kano at Mallam. Aminu Kano airport where its hub can be found.

The airline was established in the year 2006 as Mangal Airline and was later rebranded to Max Air in the year 2008 and operated its first commercial flight to King Abdulaziz International Airport Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) with two Boeing 747-400s for hajj and Umrah services. Presently Max Airline has a fleet size of 7 to convey passengers from one destination to the other.

In June 2018 Max Air began operation locally with three locations within the country, which include Abuja, Lagos, and Kano which is the main hub. Presently Max Air covers other locations like Port Harcourt, Yola, Owerri, Sokoto, Katsina, Bauchi, Benin City, and Maiduguri.
