According to research, there is a significant number of people who have shifted their career from what they studied at the university. It is quite easy to find someone who studied law being a digital marketer and a person who studied medicine swerving toward content creation. Recently, a lot of people have discovered that they need to chase their dreams and not be restricted by their undergraduate field of study. Come to think of it, an initial degree is not supposed to confine you but rather stand as a stepping stone towards achieving your goals. 

Why do I need a Masters Degree?  

 A Master’s degree is a second degree, higher than a bachelor’s degree which signifies that you have achieved advanced knowledge and expertise in a particular field of your choice. It is easier to decide on having your second degree if you will be studying a course you really love. Can I switch fields to study for a Master’s degree abroad? 

The answer to this question is Yes. There are a lot of people who have had this question in mind for a while and have put their plans on hold to make the right decision. While there are conditions attached to this, we need to let you know that it is possible to have studied a different course for your B.sc and want a different course for your Msc, and here are the conditions if you are looking to study abroad: 

• Some universities abroad may request that you take some certification courses to prove that you already have background knowledge in the new field before starting your Master’s degree. 
• Someone may need to write a letter of recommendation stating that they have worked with you in that field and they think that you can do well and thrive even better as a Master’s student. 
• You may be required to have at least 1 year of job experience in this new field you are looking forward to. For instance,  If you have a BSc in Animal science and would love to pursue a Master’s degree in creative writing. You must have at least one year of experience working as a creative writer or in any other relevant position. 
• A University can see your portfolio in the desired course and determine if you are fit to pursue a Master’s degree. This means that you may need to create a very rich portfolio that will present you as a desirable candidate for your 2nd degree abroad.
