Google Docs Online

Unlike Msword, Google Docs operates primarily online, requiring an internet connection to access and edit documents stored in Google Drive. However, it also offers an offline mode that allows limited functionality for editing documents without an internet connection, but syncing will occur once the device reconnects to the internet.

Editing Documents on Google Docs

This is very seamless as all you need to make edits to your documents has been provided on the Google Docs page. The page is designed to be intuitive, allowing for easy document creation and modification directly within the Google Docs environment. Some of the edit features you can find in this page include:

  • Undo
  • Redo
  • Tables
  • Page setup
  • Text and Paragraphs
  • Styles
  • Insert
  • Formatting
  • Comments
  • Word count
  • Share and Export
  • Find and replace and so on.

Deleting a Document on Google Docs

If you have reasons to take out any document you have previously created and saved on Google Docs;

  • Go to where the document is
  • Click on the 3-dot icon beside the document.
  • Scan through the long list until you find “remove”
  • Click on “remove” and the document will be deleted.

Extras on Google Docs

On Google Docs, you don’t have to bother about making sure that you have pressed the control S (Save) as all documents created get saved automatically. Another interesting feature of Google Docs is the template – these templates are available for different purposes, whether you have to write a resume, a business letter, or an essay. To have access to these templates, instead of clicking on “New Document”, tap the ” Choose template” button and pick whichever works well for you.

Currently, Google Docs has over 1 billion users per month while MS Word has 750 million users. This reveals the advantage that one has over the other. If you have never tried using Google Docs, this is a cue that you should to boost your level of productivity.
