The campus is furnished with sophisticated and rapid prototyping machinery, facilitating local production for robotics and engineering purposes. SQI views this facility as filling a significant void in the manufacturing landscape for creators and innovators in robotics and engineering who presently rely on foreign services for the majority of their manufacturing requirements.
What’s it about the Robotics and AI campus in Ibadan?
The facility has machines for printing and assembling PCBs, 3D printing using FDM and SLA technologies, CNC machining, and other tools. SQI also has exciting plans to let creators from all over the country use its manufacturing facilities.
As an approved school by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the institution’s leadership at the launch promised to provide students with top-notch training and practical experience to excel as robotics engineers.
During the launch event, the institution’s Director, Adeyemi C. Aderinto, led a tour of the facility, demonstrating the various equipment and capabilities available on campus. He explained how software, electronics, and mechanical components work together in automation and robotics systems, stressing that SQI now offers the possibility to build these subsystems.
Adeyemi also mentioned the importance of businesses and policymakers taking proactive steps to prioritize the Robotics and ICT sector, as it is crucial for both present and future global development.
