One important thing you must remember about a performance improvement plan is that it is formal in nature. This statement is likely to bring a flashback to a certain time in the classroom where the English teacher talked about formal and informal letters.
A performance improvement plan is a formal document that states or outlines specific and expected areas of improvement for an employee who isn’t meeting up to expectations, while providing an opportunity or clear roadmap for achieving expected performance standards.
Also known as PIP, it is a schedule for regular progress meetings and evaluations that allows an employee to demonstrate improvement.
Now, let’s take a look at a performance improvement plan sample.
